Formerly owned by local horse farmer Halli, the property was lovingly transformed into a cozy hotel by current owner EW Loo, who has elevated it into one of the top aurora-focused stays in the region. The hotel features 18 private rooms with direct outdoor access, geothermal hot tub, and locally sourced meals including chicken and potatoes from nearby farms.

Mr. EW Loo – Owner, Aurora Guide, and Photographer
Originally from Malaysia, EW Loo fell in love with the magic of Iceland during an aurora hunting trip. That passion eventually led him to take over Hotel VOS from its former owner, local horse farmer Halli, and turn it into a welcoming haven for fellow aurora seekers.
Loo is not just a hotelier
He’s a dedicated Northern Lights photographer and experienced aurora chaser. He monitors real-time weather and solar activity to give guests the best chance of seeing and photographing the aurora. Many of the stunning aurora photos shared by guests were captured under his guidance—or by Loo himself.
His mission is simple

Check-in is from 16:00 until 21:00 on the day of arrival.
If you wish to check in after 21:00, please contact the reception.
Accessibility
All rooms are located on the first floor and the family rooms have access for the disabled.

Breakfast is included if you book directly from our website, or you can buy breakfast at the hotel for a small extra fee.
Homemade bread and pastries, cold cuts, tea and coffee are available at Hotel Vos breakfast buffet.
Reception
The front desk is open until 9 PM every day. The front desk staff can assist guests with luggage storage and booking on day trips or rental cars.
